Why We Care
Scripture clearly speaks negatively against those who decive, oppress, and cheat their way to riches. Over the last several decades consumer trends have led to lower cost goods, at the expense of quality, environmental sustainability, U.S. production capability, and worker exploitation.
“Honest scales and balances belong to the LORD; all the weights in the bag are of his making.” — Proverbs 16:11
Quality Over Economy
While U.S. made products can be more expensive than globally sourced products, typically the quality you receive is much higher. Products produced in the U.S. often are made with higher quality materials and processes. They often have generous warranties that are supported with U.S. based customer support. This leads to longer lasting products that reduce waste and save money over time.
Humanity Over Economy
The U.S. has exceptional labor laws compared to other nations. This leads to products that do not use child or slave labor. Additionally, unlike other nations, U.S. factories provide much cleaner and safer working conditions.
Communities Over Economy
Manufacturing in the U.S. was once one of the leading sources of middle class jobs. As other nations opened up to global trade, many of these jobs were outsourced to lower cost. Rural communities that were once supported by manufacturing jobs have been decimated. Large urban areas like Detroit have seen severe decay over the last several decades. By supporting U.S. made products, you support the communities that produce them.
